The Lord Mayor's Show
8th November 2014

.
Alan Yarrow - the 687th Lord Mayor of London
.

This years Lords Mayor Show was the 799th and is unlike any other in the world with over 7000 participants, 20 bands, 150 horses, hundreds of carriages, carts, coaches and other vehicles including vintage cars, steam buses, tanks, tractors, ambulances, fire engines, unicycles, steamrollers, giant robots, helicopters, ships, penny farthings, beds and bathtubs.
The procession starts from Mansion House at 11am and travels to St Pauls and then along Ludgate Hill and Fleet Street to the Royal Courts. Whilst here the new Lord Mayor gives his or her oath of loyalty to the Crown and the procession is squeezed into the side streets around Aldwych for lunch. Just before 1.15pm the procession reforms and then returns to Mansion House via Victoria Embankment and Queen Victoria Street. This years crowd was estimated at half a million and millions more watched on TV.
