Walton Firs 75th Anniversary Concert
.
Walton Firs Activity Centre celebrates its 75th anniversary this year and as part of the celebrations the band were invited along to play during the centre's activity day. The band played a selection of their favourite pieces including the soundtracks of Independence Day, Pirates of the Caribbean and a James Bond medley.
You may know Walton Firs was a Scout campsite until 2008 when it was purchased from the Scout Association by the Walton Firs Foundation but did you know it was once a private golf course or that during the 2nd World War a Royal Artillery Anti-Aircraft Battery was stationed on the site or that the site was officially opened by Lady Baden Powell in 1943.
