Show was
the
799th
and is
unlike
any
other in
the
world
with
over
7000
participants,
20
bands,
150
horses,
hundreds
of
carriages,
carts,
coaches
and
other
vehicles
including
vintage
cars,
steam
buses,
tanks,
tractors,
ambulances,
fire
engines,
unicycles,
steamrollers,
giant
robots,
helicopters,
ships,
penny
farthings,
beds and
bathtubs.
The
procession
starts
from
Mansion
House at
11am and
travels
to St
Pauls
and then
along
Ludgate
Hill and
Fleet
Street
to the
Royal
Courts.
Whilst
here the
new Lord
Mayor
gives
his or
her oath
of
loyalty
to the
Crown
and the
procession
is
squeezed
into the
side
streets
around
Aldwych
for
lunch.
Just
before
1.15pm
the
procession
reforms
and then
returns
to
Mansion
House
via
Victoria
Embankment
and
Queen
Victoria
Street.
This
years
crowd
was
estimated
at half
a
million
and
millions
more
watched
on TV.
