The 1st Claygate Scout & Guide band are a very successful youth marching band. Reformed in 2001 with just 10 members the band has steadily grown and now boasts a membership of over 50. The band is 'A' graded (the highest in scouting) and regularly performs at village events as well as further afield. If you would like to know more please don't hesitate to get in touch.

  This year marked 100 years since the end of the First World War and the band were invited to be part of the People's Procession. 10,000 members of the public were given the opportunity to process past the Cenotaph to pay tribute to the brave men and women who fought in the First World War.

WW1 Centenary Trip to Ypes Belgium

Fifty members of the band have just returned from a memorable and at times emotional trip to Ypres, Belgium, over the weekend of 7-9 September. The trip coincides with the commemorations of 100 years since the Armistice that marked the end of World War 1.
